Monarch Airlines is the third British airline to announce it's cancelled all flights to and from Sharm el Sheikh until next year.
The third largest flight operator from the UK to Sharm el Sheikh joins easyJet and British Airways (BA) in their decisions to avoid using the Egyptian airport until after 2016 has started. The decision has been determined from continued security concerns at the airport after the bombing of a Russian airliner on 31st October that killed all 224 people onboard.
Monarch, who had previously cancelled flights to the Sharm el Sheikh airport until 19th December, has now extended the cancellation of it's flights to the airport until 6th January 2016.
A statement from Monarch said:<>
"The advice from The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advising customers against all but essential air travel to Sharm El Sheikh Airport remains unchanged. As a result Monarch can confirm that it has now cancelled all flights from the UK to Sharm El Sheikh up to and including Wednesday 6 January 2016.
We recognise that the uncertainty over recent weeks has been difficult for our customers and we hope that this change in policy will allow those booked to travel to make alternative arrangements as soon as possible."
easyJet flights are also cancelled until 6th January 2016, while BA have cancelled all flights until 16th January.
Thomson Airways and Thomas Cook have yet to make a decision on their flights currently cancelled until 9th and 10th December respectively.
Any customers due to travel and concerned they're affected by the cancellations are advised to contact their airline for more information.
All OMGhotels.com customers with holidays to Sharm el Sheikh who are affected or do not wish to travel are able to obtain a full refund for their hotel stays, attractions and/or transfers.
